Gereltsetseg.A: I believe that traditional Mongolian medicine and ballet can keep you young.

We interviewed one of the most successful ladies, actress Gereltsetseg.A on this occasion. She talked to us about her latest projects and also her thoughts on traditional Mongolian medicine as well as her lifestyle pattern.

Please share your experience and thoughts on traditional Mongolian medicine with us.

-It’s my first time receiving traditional medical treatment. I was exhausted from the workload and fatigued, so I wanted to get energized by the treatments offered at Manba Datsan hospital. Prior to my stay, I had no knowledge whatsoever of traditional medicine other than herbal medications, which wasn’t really my interests. Manba Datsan hospital was highly recommended by my close friends and colleagues, so I decided to give it a shot. Following my stay at Manba Datsan hospital, I realized how lucky I was to be one of the customers. Most of us have unhealthy diet and are bombarded with mostly bad news by the social media and it can lead to total exhaustion. For me, aside from the stressful and demanding society, my job can make me easily worn out. I’m delighted that I had a chance to receive treatments at this hospital and now I feel fatigue free and learnt of many ways to stay healthy.

How did the traditional medical treatment affect your health?

-I’ve learnt that we are oblivious to the fact that different kinds of poisons are getting accumulated in our bodies due to our careless eating habits. In addition, I think we should all strive to gain certain knowledge about wind, bile and phlegm elements in traditional Mongolian medical doctrine, as it can teach us about staying healthy. I also learnt about the results of disturbed or imbalanced wind element in our bodies, and how we can keep it balanced. Following my treatments at Manba Datsan hospital, I now feel energetic, free of all the excessive waste in my body and feel much better about myself.

What kind of treatments did you have?

-I took a bath in bone broth, which is one of the treatments for fatigue. Every night the doctors performed Buddhist mantras and prayers for everyone staying at the hospital, which was comforting. I’ve been to many different massage therapists and have to say that the massage therapy at Manba Datsan hospital was the best. Clinical massage is very special, helps distributing serous fluids in our bodies and releases toxins from our bodies. In general, the medical service provided by Manba Datsan hospital was satisfying and each individual receives different therapies and food according to their illnesses. I felt like I was staying at a 5 star hotel and it helped me to forget about my illness and now I feel at ease. I wasn’t really fond of alternative medicine before coming to Manba Datsan, but now I will definitely come back for more treatments. I think constant medical check-up is very important for our health and I will be back here before I fall sick.

You are an extraordinary woman. In your opinion, what would be the best tip for leading healthy lifestyle?

-I would say right attitude and learn about developing good daily habits are the key factors. I realized that traditional Mongolian medical doctrine is solely based on teaching others living healthy lifestyle and prevention of diseases. I didn’t have a strict diet when it comes to food, but after staying at Manba Datsan hospital for treatments, I learnt that we should have food that is appropriate for the current season, weather and our physical characteristics as every individual is different from one another.

You do ballet. What are the advantages of ballet?

-Ballet is art and also counts as a sport. It makes you younger and much healthier than before. We all will get old someday eventually, but ballet can keep you fit and young for as long as you want. I found out that in traditional medical theories, those aged under 70 are still regarded as young, so it’s never late to start making changes in your lives. I encourage everyone to take ballet lessons and also to learn about traditional medicine, I’m sure it will teach you a lot about staying healthy. You can get information about traditional medicine from consultant doctor of Manba Datsan hospital, Odontsetseg.G, PhD, as for the ballet lessons, I highly recommend Dashlkhagva.D as a ballet teacher. You are capable of leading healthy lifestyle that will give you healthy body and soul. Just because you are busy with your work, doesn’t mean that you don’t have time to make changes in your daily habits. As someone who loves other fellow Mongolians, I urge you to make the right choices.
